The Cla-Val Model X55A paddle style orifice plate can be used as a “restriction orifice” in a pipeline. The paddle, with an orifice bore less the inside diameter of the pipeline, creates additional friction and pressure drop within a system. This can be advantageous in preventing cavitation of various pipeline components by providing necessary back pressure. The orifice plate is made of 302 or 304 grade stainless steel with other materials options also available. The orifice plate bore sizes adhere to factory standards but can be manufactured with made-to-order custom bores.
